NASHVILLE, Tenn.—ADS Security has acquired the accounts of Equinox Alarm Services, a mostly residential dealer based in Tuscaloosa, Ala. This is the fourth buy this year for ADS, and marks the fourth consecutive year ADS had closed at least four acquisitions.
“We have an incredible team at ADS who works hard to make sure we are buying the right companies, and that the transition is as painless as possible for those customers,” John Cerasuolo, ADS president and CEO, said in the announcement. “We have known Carl and the quality of service he has provided for many years. Equinox Alarms provides an exceptional company culture and the type of legendary service we are always on the lookout for.”
Equinox Alarm Services customers will be serviced out of the ADS Tuscaloosa office, and owner Carl Grantham will be joining ADS Security in a technician role based out of that office. Equinox customers will have access to the ADS advanced suite of residential and commercial services, according to the press release.
Paul Dyson, VP of acquisitions for ADS Security, told Security Systems News that the company is a “good fit with ADS” for several reasons, including its location within the ADS footprint, use of a Honeywell product, similar company culture and commitment to customers.
“We are consistently looking for quality companies in the markets we serve, like Equinox, as well as expanding into new markets,” Dyson said, noting that there are potentially “still more deals on the horizon for this year.”
In addition to Equinox, this year ADS acquired Falcon Fire Systems in Charleston, S.C., in January, the customer accounts of ERMC Security Solutions in Chattanooga, Tenn., in August and PMI Security in New Bern, N.C., just last month. This follows a record-setting acquisition year for ADS in 2016, where ADS added 8,000 accounts across six purchases and opened two new locations in Dothan, Ala., and Sanford, N.C.Topic: Residential Tags: ADS Security, Equinox Alarm Services, John Cerasuolo, Paul Dyson
