This is one of the most common questions that I hear when I talk about security. I’d like to rephrase the question though, because need, is a strong word, and most of us don’t need a lot of things in life, but we still get them. I think the better question is why should I have security. The first part of the question refers to living in a low crime area, so I’m going to address that first.
Low crime areas are very sought after for family living, as they should be. I know that I would seek out a low crime area for my family because I want to make sure that my family is as safe as they can possibly be. I actually do live in a low crime area, in one of the top 15 lowest crime states in the country. All those things being true still doesn’t change the fact that when I look at the paper in the morning or check the news online I am constantly seeing burglaries, theft, arson, drug usage, not just in my area, but on the very street I live on. In fact from a Burglar’s point of view a low crime area is a perfect setting to break into someone’s home. People that live in low crime areas tend to be more trusting of their neighbors, and leave their doors unlocked more often.
Lets get one thing straight, low crime does not equal no crime. There is always going to be someone out there that can’t help himself or herself, and is compelled to act in a way that is unacceptable to normal society. I’m not trying to scare you I’m just trying to be honest with you. As for why you should have a security system look at the following facts and you can decide if they are compelling enough.
Most Burglaries occur from 6am to 6pm.
74% of burglaries occur in nice residential areas.
Homes with no security system are 3 times more likely to be broken into.
About 6000 burglaries occur every day in America.
Most burglaries take less than 60 seconds to gain access to homes.
The average loss in a burglary is $1,725.
DIY systems may not cover everything they should – There are a couple prevalent reasons that a DIY system may miss the mark. First off if you are purchasing a prepackaged system that means it definitely was not customized to your home or business. You may still need other equipment. Secondly, security experts are called experts for a reason. Experts will know where to place the equipment for the best functionality and coverage. They already know how the system is supposed to work and why some spots may work better or worse for certain equipment.
Those are all potentially great reasons to get a security system. Here are a few more. It’s better to be preventative before a burglary than reactive after a burglary. Security is just the start, your security system could be the beginning of a whole home automation system, which are becoming more and more popular. With a home automation system you can give the effect that you’re home while you are actually on vacation. Automation also has options for many more features.
Long story short it’s better to have a system now then to be sorry later. Let us protect you and your best interests! Call today 1-800-992-8090
